The short history of BOMB Skateboards...
Back in 1995, some of the guys at Board of Missoula came
up with an acronym for our shop branded stuff that we thought was pretty cool:
B.O.M.B., Board Of Missoula Brand. We started off with some basic skateboard
decks and shirts with the idea being to offer some good stuff to the
local Montana kids for a little bit less money. When I came back to the shop
after a short hiatus to Washington State, I took over the skateboard dept.
at the shop along with the production and direction for B.O.M.B. Soon after I
began working on the project I found the second part of our mission statement:
to showcase local Montana artists with our products.
So from 1996 until 2004, I basically decided what graphics and products B.O.M.B.
would create. We made tons of skateboard decks, wheels, shirts, stickers, jeans,
hats and other clothing and accessories. We've also produced videos, put on contests
and demos, and sponsored local Montana skateboarders to help spread the love
of skateboarding throughout Montana and beyond.
In 2004 Board of Missoula (the shop) was sold to Jake
Barrow and he changed the name of the shop to
Edge
of the World.
Not wanting to see our legacy end, Jake allowed me to purchase the name Board
of Missoula and B.O.M.B. B.O.M.B. has been very well received in Missoula and
Montana as a whole over the years and I'm proud to have been part of it.
